The Alumnae Association of Barnard College awarded the 2026 Millicent Carey McIntosh Award for Feminsm to Katherine Brewster, President and Executive Director of BC Voices, Inc.
“Each year Barnard honors extraordinary alumnae with five awards bestowed on behalf of the Alumnae Association of Barnard College,” the Association explained. The Award for Feminism was established in 2004 to honor an alumna “who exemplifies the strong, independent traditions of Barnard” and personifies “Barnard’s commitment to the education of women.”
Katherine Brewster is the visionary who conceived the award-winning online docuseries “Stand UP, Speak OUT: The Personal Politics of Women’s Rights.” A lifelong feminist and social justice advocate, she has more than 50 years of experience in sales, marketing, business management, and fundraising for non-profit artistic enterprises. A co-president of the Barnard College Class of 1971, she earned an MBA at Columbia Business School in 1978, and is the founder and director of The ATMA Center of Transformational Yoga.
